3412 Kafka-First Chapter (VR video,8’25”, CGI) is a succession of different landscapes made with Unreal Engine that leads to an end point representing the re-enactment of a Martin Kippenberger’s installation “The Happy End of Franz Kafka’s Amerika”, which becomes also the portal to a potential further level of the narration. The video is inspired by the process in which our memory reconstructs and organizes memories and the changing nature of the latter, which are reconstituted as they are brought back to the surface. The work stages “a performative matrix” which reflects and mirrors the changing nature of a path intended as a flexible mnemonic track, as well as the intrinsic deceptive nature of mnemonic processes.
